How it works

Where the season stands

  1. 01

    What is done

    1. Weeks 1-4 · done

      The Open Decks nights

      Names were drawn in the room on the night, and whoever was drawn played twenty minutes in any style they liked. The last one was August 26.

    2. The count

      Every vote is in

      Each week's votes ran over one 72-hour window. Sixty-six competitors came through it, and their final counts are published on the board.

    3. The hat

      Closed

      There are no more draws this season. Everybody who is in the competition is already on the board.

  2. 02

    How a night is scored now

    1. Three judges

      The set

      Ten minutes, live. Judges score on performance, energy, creativity and putting on a show.

    2. At the door

      The room you bring

      Anyone who comes down and gives a competitor's name at the door is counted for them, and adds to their score on the night.

    3. No online voting

      A clean slate

      Votes do not move any more. What they already earned sets the seeding, and nothing else carries over.

    What is left

    1. Sep 2 and Sep 9

      Challenger nights

      The top five of each week play September 2. Sixth through tenth play September 9.

    2. From Sep 16

      Seeded knockout

      Everyone ranked eleventh or lower skips both challenger nights and is seeded straight into the bracket on the votes they already have.

    3. Oct 14

      The final

      The bracket narrows round by round to one night, one room, and the best DJ in Denver.

    Knockout dates are confirmed to each competitor by email once the bracket is drawn.
