How Season 2 works

Anyone 21 or over who can legally work in the United States can enter. Sign up online, sign the competitor agreement, and you're in the hat. You only need to sign up once: if your name isn't drawn, it stays in for every draw night until it comes out.

Duos and back-to-back pairs can enter as one act. One person, one entry, whichever form it takes.

Staff of Tavern and their immediate families can't compete for the prize.

OPEN DECKS runs at The Warehouse on Wednesdays, doors 8 PM. On a draw night, names come out of the hat in the room, so you have to be there to be drawn. Everyone drawn plays a set that night and goes on the board.

No brackets this season. Every round is decided on score, and the highest scores go through, all the way to the final.

Sets are scored by judges, and online votes count toward your score. How many judges, the scoring scale and how votes are counted are published before each round.

Saves: once the competition starts, the judges may save a DJ who missed the cut. Whether anyone is saved is at our discretion. There are no saves during the draw nights.

The Season 2 grand prize is $6,000, a six-month residency at The Warehouse: a booked gig paid $1,000 a month for six months. Nothing is paid up front; each month is earned by playing that month's gig.

Other prizes may go out across the season, announced as they come up. No particular prize is promised to any competitor until it is announced.
